Jim is a qualified Fencing Master and Coaching Tutor, with many years’ experience of coaching fencers of all ages and standards from beginners to national team members. Jim is a Level 5 coach, registered with the   

British Academy of Fencing and the British Fencing Association, and teaches all three weapons: Foil, Sabre and Epee.

 

Jim has been actively involved in fencing for most of his life, firstly as an international competitor before becoming an FIE qualified international referee. He later went on to become the Great Britain Sabre Team Coach and Manager.

 

During Jim’s international career he represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Championships.  His impressive list of honours includes Commonwealth individual and team gold medals, 5 times British Sabre Champion, 3 times British Open Sabre Champion (Corble Cup) and former World Veteran's Sabre Champion.​
